Everett “Tubby” Duane Vines passed away on October 3rd, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Jacksons Gap, Alabama.

Tubby was born on December 6, 1927, to Leamon Vines and Jessie Miller Vines at their home in Jacksons Gap, Alabama.

Tubby was a hardworking man who could fix just about anything. He dedicated 32 years of his life to McKelvey Chevrolet and later served for 10 years as Superintendent of the City of Dadeville Wastewater Plant.

Outside of work, Tubby had a great love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed coon hunting, caring for his farm animals, and spending time working around his property. If he was not in the woods hunting, he could often be found sitting on his porch or tending to something around the farm.

Those who knew Tubby will remember him for his sense of humor and the contagious laugh that became one of the things he was best known for. He was also a direct and straightforward man—you never had to wonder how Tubby felt or what was on his mind.

More than anything, Tubby enjoyed sharing the things he loved with his family. Over the years, he took great pride in teaching his daughter and grandson about the outdoors, hunting, animals, and the many skills he had learned throughout his life.

Tubby is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Davis Vines; his daughter, Kathy (Bobby) Patterson of Alexander City; his grandson, Hunter (Brianna) Vickers of Dadeville, Alabama; and his two great-grandsons, Houston and Hansen Vickers, whom he dearly adored.

Tubby leaves behind a lifetime of laughter, stories, hard work, and good times, along with a family who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

The family would also like to extend a special thank-you to the Ivy Creek Healthcare team for the care and support they provided.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leamon and Jessie Vines; brothers, Clarence (Beatrice) Vines, Norwood Vines, sisters, Mavis Pitts, Joyce (Clarence Tater) Jinks and Lorene Eickenberg
