Nikki Sims Turner

Nikki Sims Turner, age 58 of Dadeville, Alabama, passed away at home on December 21, 2025. Nikki had all her family and friends by her side in the days prior.

Nikki was born on December 1, 1967, to Larry James Sims and Judith Earl Spraggins.

Nikki graduated from Dadeville High School in 1987, then later went on to college at Troy University, earning a degree in nursing. Everyone who knew her knew that nursing was her passion.

Nikki married Earl Blake Turner on September 6, 1991, in Dadeville, Alabama. In the 34 years of marriage, they have built a wonderful life. Two children and 5 grandchildren. Nikki and Blake loved being on the Gulf Coast and deep-sea fishing. Nikki’s precious dog Daisy was her pride and joy that went everywhere with her until losing her in 2023.

Nikkie worked at Russell Medical Center as a med surg nurse for 13 years and made some of her best friends there. Nikki left Russell Medical to take a job with the State of Alabama Department of Public Health. She worked in numerous counties over her years there. She retired from the Dadeville office in 2022. Since her retirement, she has spent her days surrounded by her grandchildren, which were the highlights of her life.

Nikki leaves behind her husband of 34 years, Blake Turner. Her daughter Crystal (Terry) and grandchildren Bradlee, Ronnie and Aubrey. Her son Christopher (Michelle) and their precious twins Harvey and Jaycee Lynn.

Nikki’s father Larry Sims, and her brothers Jon Sims and Andy (Jennifer) Sims are left to cherish her name as well. Nikki is also survived by her aunt Darlene (Glenn) Woodruff and Uncle Tim (Elaine) Spraggins.

Nikki was preceded in death by her mother Judith Sims, Pam Sims, and grandson Tyler Colvin.

Nikki was known for her loving and caring nature. Nikki was the one that everyone turned to for everything. She will deeply missed but we will hold her in our hearts and memories forever.

A short memorial service will be held at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Dadeville, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 1 pm.
