Emblem Emblem

Robert J. Buice of Dadeville, AL passed away on 12/17/25, after a long and full life.

Bob was born in 1934 in Buford, GA. He was the cherished son of Len and Mary Buice. Bob and his beloved sister Barbara grew up with a large extended family.

He graduated from Buford High School and then attended North Georgia College before attending and graduating from Georgia Tech with a BS degree of Industrial Management.

He joined the Marine Corps during college. Bob had many stories from his active-duty years. He retired honorably as a Colonel from the Marine Corps Reserve after 30 years of combined service. Even though he retired, he was always a marine at heart.

Bob worked as a Regional Manager for Allstate Insurance for over 25 years. Upon retirement, he moved to Dadeville and became very active in the community. He especially enjoyed painting local landscapes.

Bob was an involved member of Red Ridge Methodist Church of Dadeville, AL and served on various committees. He was also a member of the Stillwaters Volunteer Fire Department for several years.

Remaining to cherish Bob’s memory are his children, son, Lt. Colonel Guy H. Buice, US Army and daughter, Leslie Buice Carson; his grandchild, William Buice Carson. Bob had a beloved extended family, including Harla Samples and John Wages and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother who was a second Mom to him, Elizabeth Buice; his sister, Barbara Coleman and her husband George Coleman.

Bob embraced Dadeville as if it were his lifelong home. There are many, many dear friends and neighbors that he loved as family. He never met a stranger, only a new friend.

Visitation will be held Thursday February 5th, 2026, at 10 am at Red Ridge Methodist Church on Hwy 34 south of Dadeville. The memorial service will follow immediately afterwards at 11 am.

The internment will be held at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, 5979 New Bethany Road, Buford, GA 30518, on Saturday, February 7th at 11 am.

Mr. Bob loved his family, friends, the Dadeville Community, and the Corps. Semper Fi!

Through the 30+ years he lived in Dadeville, he could be found visiting with his neighbors at Poplar Dawgs, cheering for Georgia Tech and riding through town in his truck plastered with Marine Corps stickers and occasionally hitting the “oooga” horn, just to say hi.

The family is accepting flowers or in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Red Ridge Methodist Church, 8091 Co Rd 34, Dadeville, AL 36853 or the Wounded Warrior Project.
