It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Christopher Dendy, 57, on February 21, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Chris was currently living in Auburn, Alabama but grew up in Jacksons Gap, Alabama.

Chris was born on April 28, 1968, in Montgomery, Alabama to John Parker Dendy and Julia Thomas Dendy.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Lake Martin Funeral Home and Cremation, 16797 U S Hwy 280, Dadeville, Alabama 36853. Visitation will be from 1:30 until 2:30 pm with the funeral service starting immediately following visitation.

Chris was a graduate of Dadeville High School, Alexander City State Junior College and Troy University.

Chris started out as a volunteer firefighter for the Dadeville Fire Department. He then went to work for Lee County Sheriff’s Office as a dispatcher. While working for Lee County, Jimmy Abbott hired him to come work as a dispatcher for Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department. During his time at Tallapoosa County, the Tallapoosa County E-911 emergency system was implemented and Chris worked tirelessly helping to bring the 911 system to the citizens of Tallapoosa County. He went to school to be a paramedic and was a partner for a time with Andy Moore owning and operating Lake Martin Ambulance Service. He got out of Lake Martin when he moved to Macon, Georgia to continue his work as a paramedic.

Chris spent a majority of his life as a paramedic. His primary goal was to do everything he could to keep someone else’s loved one alive, without regard for himself. He was the epitome of a selfless person and had a true servant’s heart.

Chris is survived by his wife, Shannon Wages Dendy; sons, Mason Dendy, Brandon Bullard (Christi), Kyle Horn (Hannah), Shane Horn; grandchildren, C T Bullard, Leon Bullard; brother, Marc Dendy (Dana); sister, Lara Mattison (Jacava); uncle, William Kent “Bubby” Dendy; mother in law, Agnes Wages; brothers in law, Scott Wages (Dena), Shean Wages (Mary), John Denney; sisters in law, Susan Wages, Jenny Wages (Michael Baker) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Parker Dendy and Julia Thomas Dendy; Father in law, Thomas R. Wages.
